What does a Volunteer Observer Do?
-
Our trained observers supervise visits between children and their non-residential parent, ensuring the visit is physically, emotionally and mentally safe for the children. As an observer, you would document the visit and intervene if something unsafe or unhealthy arises during the visit.
-
Our observers are crucial to the success of the program and allowing children to see, play with, talk to and keep their connection to their other parent.
Training to Become a CEVC Observer
-
We train all our volunteers, so no prior experience or background is necessary!
-
We conduct 3-4 training classes throughout the year, so if you’re interested in volunteering, let us know and we’ll get your name on the list for the next session!
-
Volunteers must be at least 18 years old and background checks are required.

What's the Commitment Like?
-
To ensure consistency, we ask our observers to commit to volunteering for at least six months.
-
Many of our volunteers work a two-hour shift every other week, but we are flexible based on your schedule and needs.
